Auditions scheduled for ‘Midnight’

Spokane Civic Theatre is holding auditions for the play “I’ll be Back Before Midnight” by Peter Colley on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Firth J. Chew Studio Theatre in the lower level of the Civic, 1020 N. Howard St. (entrance off Dean Avenue).

Five actors ages 25 to 75 are needed for performances that are scheduled Jan. 13 through Feb. 4.

Auditioners should prepare a one-minute monologue and can expect to perform cold readings from the script, about a couple who rent a cabin from a spooky farmer who likes to tell scary stories.

“The Japanese Cultural Center at Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute, 4000 W. Randolph Road, is offering seasonal origami classes Nov. 16 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

The paper-folding class will discuss making turkeys, pilgrims and paper o’plenty. The cost is $5.
