Moscow boys, CdA girls second
Moscow got first-place finishes from Christian Johnson in the 200 freestyle (1 minute, 45.84 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (48.39) en route to 234 points and a second-place team finish at the Idaho State Swimming Championships in Boise.
Lake City’s Nick Blank broke a pair of meet records, winning the 200 individual medley in 1:55.12 and the 500 freestyle in 4:39.89. The Timberwolves took fifth with 165 points.
Boise won the team title with 268 points. Sandpoint was seventh with 132, Post Falls 17th with 36 points and Coeur d’Alene 18th with 32.
On the girls side, Coeur d’Alene finished second in the 200 medley relay (1:58.45) and the 200 freestyle relay (1:48.l34) en route to 213 points and a second-place finish. Wood River took first with 283.
Sandpoint, sparked by Paulina Gralow’s win in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.35) took third with 170 points. Moscow, led by Mattie Schmidt’s win in the 100 butterfly (1:02.20) and Caroline Campbell’s win in the 100 freestyle (54.92) was fourth with 169 points. Lake City was fifth with 150 points, Post Falls 10th with 94 points and Lewiston 22nd with 17 points.
