Fenenbock 3’s help LC to girls basketball victory
Richelle Fenenbock was 4 for 10 from behind the 3-point arc and finished with 27 points as Lake City beat Capital 65-55 in a non-league matchup in Boise.
Emma Hawn added 15 points, including 13 in the second half for Lake City (1-1).
In other non-league action, no Viking scored in double-figures as Coeur d’Alene fell to Borah 48-24 in Boise. Jackie Lenz led the Vikings (1-1) with eight points and Jenna Delong added five. … Jordan Budd had a game-high 20 points as Kellogg (1-1) knocked off Potlatch (0-1) 40-30 in Kellogg. Katie Dumont led the Wildcats with 10 rebounds. … Hannah Nyrop had 15 points and five steals as Kootenai (2-0) scored a 40-21 win over Timberlake (1-1). Cassie Scheffelmaier added 10 points, four steals and four assists for the Tigers.
Washington preps
Brandon Artz scored four touchdowns in a variety of fashions, throwing for one, running for one and returning two interceptions for scores as Grandview knocked off Colville 32-22 in the first round of the State 2A Tournament in Grandview.
Artz was 17 for 25 for 188 yards and a score as Grandview (7-4) forced Colville QB Cody Yecha into four interceptions, three by Artz.
The Indians (6-4) were led by John Roberts, who rushed for 120 yards on 24 carries and returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown.
