NBA: Relax dress code
Just recently a policy was passed by the National Basketball Association that all players are to honor a dress code. They aren’t allowed to wear anything but business attire whenever they are engaged in team or league business.
Business attire is basically dress pants, dress shirt, and dress shoes. They can’t wear sleeveless shirts, basketball shorts, headbands, chains, pendants, medallions, headphones, or sunglasses while indoors, and they’re not allowed to wear sports clothing of any sort unless it has to do with an actual game.
The NBA athletes should not have to go by these rules. You can put a suit and tie on a gangster and he will still be a gangster. The same goes for these athletes. Even if the players wear business attire during times on the job they will still be basketball players and have their own sense of style. With that, these players should be able to show off their style and set trends.
The only reason the NBA made these rules is because they think the chains and baggy clothes the players wore made their ratings go down and they wanted to boost it back up. I watch the games, and television in general, and the clothing issue should not be a problem.
