L-W in title game
TACOMA – Tyler Martin ran for 299 yards and four touchdowns, including a 73-yard run in the second quarter, as LaCrosse-Washtucna defeated Lummi 66-28 in a State B-8 football semifinal game at the Tacoma Dome on Friday for the Tigercats’ 47th consecutive victory.
On the other side of the ball, while the Tigercats’ (12-0) defense bent, it didn’t break. Blackhawks (9-2) offensive threat Andrew Jefferson threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns, however, on four occasions, the Lummi offense found itself inside the L-W 10-yard line, but failed to come away with any points.
The Tigercats defense also had its in hand the point production. Matt Martin ran an interception back 46 yards for a TD and Marshall Burke returned a fumble 73 yards for another score,
L-W meet either Neah Bay or Hunters for the state championship on Friday. They play today.
