Wine tasting will support N. Idaho AIDS Coalition

The “Tastefully Done Wine Tasting” event, to benefit the North Idaho AIDS Coalition, will be Oct. 16.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased by calling (208) 665-1448 or visiting the North Idaho AIDS Coalition, 410 Sherman Ave., Suite 215, Coeur d’Alene, or The Long Ear, 2405 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene.

The evening includes hors d’oeuvres, music, a silent auction, door prizes, valet parking and special guest appearance by “Velma, The Queen of Fun,” Gail Fendley.

The fun begins at 3 p.m. at The Clark House on Hayden Lake Bed and Breakfast, 4550 E. South Hayden Lake Road., and will conclude at 7 p.m.

Proceeds will assist the North Idaho AIDS Coalition, a nonprofit organization that supports people living with HIV, and their families and friends, by providing access to health, social, and psychological services as well as prevention education and services.

Benefit walks

• Join the America’s Walk for Diabetes today and contribute to The American Diabetes Association and its fight to find a cure for the devastating disease.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. in Riverfront Park.

Two walks are available this year: a one-mile loop through the park or a five-mile walk along the Centennial Trail. At the finish line, participants will be treated to a variety of vendor booths, entertainment and lunch provided by Big Daddy’s.

• The Pullman CROP Walk 2005 For Hunger and Disaster Relief will be next Sunday.

The 10-kilometer walk along Greenway Trail, Pullman, will benefit Church World Service, a relief organization that provides emergency food, relocation and psychological assistance here and abroad.

Registration begins at the trailhead at 1:30 p.m. Walkers can begin at 2 p.m.

Camp Dart-Lo garage sale

Help support little campers by shopping at Camp Dart-Lo’s garage sale next weekend.

Find bargains on clothing, lunch boxes, pillows, towels, shoes, household items, furniture and more from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through next Sunday at the camp, 14000 N. Dartford Drive.

Proceeds from the sale will help support camp programs and maintenance.
