Julia Sweeney offers master class at Fox

Comedian/actress/writer Julia Sweeney will give a free master class on the entertainment business today at 3 p.m. at the Fox Theater, 1005 W. Sprague Ave.

Spokane native Sweeney, a former “Saturday Night Live” cast member, is currently a writer for the hit ABC series “Desperate Housewives.”

She will give a benefit performance of her one-woman show “In the Family Way” on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Fox to benefit restoration of the historic theater, where she held her first job. Tickets are $45, through TicketsWest outlets (325-SEAT, 800-325-SEAT, www.ticketswest.com).
