Wallace sweeps aside Mullan

Wallace remained in second place in the North Star League volleyball standings with a 3-0 win at Mullan (1-14, 1-9) on Wednesday night. Shala Wild paced the Miners (9-4, 8-1) by serving eight aces, while Staci Hinz added a team-high 10 kills, two blocks, and three digs.

•Four days after knocking off defending Northwest Conference volleyball champions Pacific Lutheran, Whitworth College swept host Whitman (7-8, 2-5) and remained undefeated in league play. The Pirates (11-2, 7-0) received team-highs of 16 kills, 42 assists, and 13 digs from Natalie Danielson, Rebekah Hornor, and Holly Coleman, respectively.
