Lakeland beats PF in five-game match

Scarlett Pruitt had 27 assists and 17 digs to lead Lakeland to a 20-25, 25-19, 25-23, 20-25, 15-11 victory over visiting Post Falls (3-7) in an Inland Empire League volleyball match Thursday night at Rathdrum.

Brigitte Boucher added 11 kills and four blocks for the Hawks (5-5). Lisa Steinbach led the Trojans with 14 kills and eight blocks.

Tarra Tymesen had 11 kills and Holli Edelblute added 10 digs and four aces as Timberlake (2-5) defeated host Bonners Ferry (3-3) 3-1 in the Intermountain League. BF’s Katie Poston had seven kills and seven aces. … Also in the IML, Amanda Olson was 21 of 21 on service points and added six kills as St. Maries (7-0) swept host Kellogg (2-4).

Darcy Collins served seven aces and added seven digs to lead Kootenai (10-0) to a sweep of host Coeur d’Alene Charter (2-7) in the North Star League. Cassie Scheffelmaier added 24 assists for the Warriors. … Elsewhere, Tiffany Van Buren had seven kills and 16 digs to lead Clark Fork (6-4) to a sweep of host Post Falls Christian (3-7).

Football

Phil Helbling ran for 131 yards and a touchdown to add to his first-quarter field goal as Moscow (5-1) defeated host Boise (2-4) 24-17 in a non-league game. Kelly Otto was 11 of 15 for 228 yards with two touchdown passes to Cody Line, including the 23-yard game-winning score in the fourth quarter.
