‘Godfather Returns’ author pens new novel

Associated Press

Welcome back, Corleones.

Mark Winegardner, who wrote the 2004 best seller “The Godfather Returns,” is working on a new novel, “The Godfather’s Revenge,” which involves the assassination of President Kennedy. G.P. Putnam’s Sons plans to publish it next year.

Winegardner won a nationwide contest co-sponsored by Random House and the late Mario Puzo’s estate to become the new “Godfather” writer.
