StageWest Community Theatre is presenting an October series of one-act plays with dinner performances in the Cheney City Hall auditorium, 609 Second St.

“The plays range from horror to hilarity. We want the audience to go home laughing,” said Jen Hamilton, president of the organization and one of the directors.

” ‘In With Alma’ by Steven Packard, ‘The Tell-Tale Heart’ by Edgar Allen Poe, ‘Sorry, Wrong Number’ by Lucille Fletcher and ‘Fifteen Minute Hamlet’ by Tom Stoppard take the audience on a journey of emotions,” Hamilton said.

Dinner performances are Oct. 21 at 7 p.m., Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. and Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20.

A Matinee Dessert Theatre Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. will provide a selection of gourmet desserts. Matinee tickets are $15 each.

The season culminates in a Masquerade Ball Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.

“The audience is encouraged to dress in costume with a prize for the best costume,” Hamilton said. The menu will consist of a selection of gourmet hors d’oeuvres.

The band Sidetrack will provide boogie music after the performances. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Bicycle Time & Music Too, Cheney Owl Pharmacy, Giggling Guests Childcare or Tree of Knowledge Bookstore or by calling 235-6552.

StageWest Community Theatre is committed to bringing quality productions to the West Plains, Hamilton said. Monthly meetings are the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Cheney Care Center community room.
