The cream of the football crop is starting to rise. Colfax and Freeman (both 3-1) have created a two-game gap with two to play between the top and bottom of the league. Colfax beat Kettle Falls (1-3) going away 40-14 while Freeman blanked Newport (1-3) 20-0. A win by both the Bulldogs, who travel to Newport, and Freeman, which travels to Kettle Falls, on Friday would ensure next week’s matchup between the two schools would be for the league title.
