Bi-County/Panorama: League volleyball tournaments begin this week, as four of the eight teams from the Bi-Co tournament and four of the six teams from the Panorama get into the District 7 tournament Nov. 3 and 5 at St. George’s. The district gets only three teams to state this year, even though 21 of the 28 State B champions have come from District 7. Davenport is the top seed out of the Bi-County, looking to make its 14th trip to state in 15 years. Curlew is the top seed in the Panorama tournament, trying to make its second consecutive appearance at state.

Southeast B-11: Top-ranked DeSales (7-1, 3-0) can clinch its 10th straight state football playoff appearance with a victory at Dayton (4-3, 1-2). Asotin (5-2, 2-1) can move one step closer to the league’s No. 2 playoff spot at home against Tekoa-Oakesdale/Rosalia. The Nighthawks (1-6, 1-2) must win this game to stay in playoff contention.

Southeast B-8: Fourth-ranked Tri-Cities Prep (7-1, 3-1) can move one step closer to its first football playoff appearance with a win at Prescott (1-6, 1-4). Colton-Pullman Christian, which hosts Jubilee Academy (4-4, 1-3) this week and visits TCP on Nov. 4, and St. John-Endicott (4-3, 2-2), which visits Touchet (1-6, 1-3), both need victories to stay in contention with TCP for the league’s second and final playoff spot.

Whitman County: Garfield-Palouse (9-2) can win the volleyball title heading into Monday’s league tournament with a victory at St. John-Endicott (2-9). If the Eagles pull the upset, then LaCrosse-Washtucna (9-3) and Tekoa-Oakesdale (9-3) would enter a three-way tie with the Vikings. Rosalia (8-4) has locked up the fourth spot.
