Breakfast planned

Metaline Falls Congregational United Methodist Church of Christ, 101 W. Fifth Ave., Metaline Falls, Wash., is hosting its annual Affair on Main Street breakfast today and Sunday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

The women’s fellowship of the church will provide pancakes, ham, eggs and beverages for $5 in celebration of Labor Day.

The breakfast will be held on the east lawn of the church but will move inside if the weather is bad.

Hymn sing

St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 316 E. 24th Ave., is presenting its annual hymn sing Sunday at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m.

Performers include Randi von Ellefson, Debbie Hansen, Carol Miyamoto, Dan Keberle, Melinda Keberle, Andy Plamondon, Tom Molter and Karin Steward.

Spiritual Hunger Conference

Healing Rooms Ministries is presenting the seventh annual Spiritual Hunger Conference from Wednesday through Sept. 10 at the Spokane Convention Center, 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

The conference will feature speakers Bill Johnson and Cindy Jacobs.

Meeting times are Wednesday at 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Sept. 10 at 2 and 7 p.m. Admission is free, but registration is required.

Catholicism series

Gonzaga University is presenting a seminar by Patrick McCormick, a religious studies professor at the school.

McCormick will discuss “Jesus’ Table Manners: Etiquette for a Revolution” Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Globe Room of Cataldo Hall.

Jesus broke bread with the outcasts of society and waited on servants, which changed attitudes about class and social station.

Art exhibits

• The Episcopal Diocese of Spokane is hosting a gala Northwest wild salmon barbecue and art auction next Saturday at 5 p.m.

The event will be on the grounds of the Paulsen House, 245 E. 13th Ave., which is the administrative home of the diocese.

Artwork from Tom Wakeley, Linda Besse, John Hay, Tom Minnerly and others is on display in the house’s parlor gallery from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The cost is $35, and the proceeds will benefit the maintenance fund for the building.

Ministerial training

Ancient Traditions Community Church, 1928 E. Rich Ave., is offering ordination/ministerial training classes starting Monday and running through Dec. 12 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

The classes will discuss the history of the Old Testament and will include a biblical overview.

The cost is $100 a month for ministerial students and $15 per class for nonstudents.

Yoga classes

The Radha Yoga Center, 406 S. Coeur d’Alene St. Suite T, is offering mantra yoga classes on Sundays from 9 to 10 a.m.
