Unity Center to observe World Day of Prayer
The Unity Center, 4123 E. Lincoln Road, is celebrating the World Day of Prayer today from 6 to 9 p.m.
The evening will include guests from Baha’i, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, and Sufi faiths. Guests will participate in the prayers as well as discuss spiritual history.

Organ concert
The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., is presenting Janet Satre Ahrend in an organ and choir concert Sunday at 4 p.m.
Ahrend, the church’s organist and choirmaster, will present a program titled, “Organ Music by Northwest Composers,” which includes a chant meditation, “Ave Verum Corpus,” by Gonzaga University professor Kevin Waters.
The cathedral is also offering tours from noon to 4 p.m.
The events are free, but a free-will offering will be accepted.

Red Mass service
The Gonzaga University School of Law is celebrating the 2005 Red Mass for all members of the legal profession Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 330 E. Boone Ave.
The service will include a reception from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The special service dates to the 14th century and is celebrated every year around the world.

• Kari Wagler, a psychotherapist, is presenting the seminar, “Receiving Angel Guidance,” Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon in the Lair Student Center at Spokane Community College, 1810 N. Greene St.

• Heritage Congregational Church, 1801 E. 29th Ave., is presenting “Fruit of the Spirit,” a nine-week course beginning Sunday.
The class will be presented in two formats: an adult class on Sundays at 8:45 a.m., and during the sermon at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

• St. Peter Lutheran Church, 4620 N. Regal St., is resuming its Christian education program Sunday.
Sunday school classes for age 3 through adult will begin at 9 a.m., and worship service will begin at 10 a.m.
The service Sunday will feature Bob Baker, the director of Camp Lutherhaven, who will lead the singing of camp songs.
Also, the children and Sunday school teachers will be blessed during the service, and the church will serve ice cream.
