Prugh keys North Idaho’s win with two goals
Freshman midfielder John Prugh scored twice and added an assist off the bench Tuesday to give North Idaho College a 4-0 win over Community Colleges of Spokane (3-4-3) in a non-conference men’s soccer match in Coeur d’Alene.
Goalkeeper Mike Hildebrandt had 10 saves on the way to his fourth shutout of the season for the Cardinals (5-0-3).
•Bryan Jordan’s second goal of the match – and the season – in the 81st minute gave Oregon State (3-2-3) a 2-1 win over Gonzaga (2-2-1) in non-conference action at Martin Field.
•Whitworth senior defenseman Trevor Osborne earned Northwest Conference defensive player of the week honors after leading the Pirates to shutout victories over Willamette and George Fox.
Women’s soccer
Akosua Fordjour set up both CC Spokane goals in a 2-1 victory over North Idaho in Coeur d’Alene.
Julianne Simpson and Heather Wilson each found the net for the Sasquatch (6-2-2), who held the Cardinals (5-3) to five shots on goal.
Football
Whitworth junior tight end Michael Allan earned NWC offensive player of the week honors after scoring a career-high three touchdowns in a 43-28 victory over La Verne on Saturday. Allan had five catches for 94 yards in the contest.
Golf
Gonzaga sophomore Trevor Loe shot a final-round 71 to finish tied for eighth at the Purple and Red Invitational in Odgen, Utah. Idaho finished eighth and Gonzaga ninth in the 14-team field.
