Pullman senior Miranda Weitz took over the net with 22 kills and five blocks to lead Pullman to a 25-22, 24-26, 25-11, 23-25, 15-13 victory over Colville in a Great Northern League volleyball match Tuesday night in Pullman.

Ashley Cox ignited the Pullman offense throughout the match, setting up 45 assists for the Greyhounds (4-0 GNL). Caitlin McGrane had 18 kills for the Indians (1-2).

In other GNL action, junior Jordan Monasmith led Chewelah with 22 kills, five aces and 19 digs in a four-game victory over Medical Lake (0-3) at Chewelah. Maddie Kernan added 28 assists for the Cougars (2-1). … Riverside’s Kayla Newberg used her 6-foot-1 frame to register 12 kills, three aces and four blocks as the Rams (2-0) swept host Deer Park (0-3). Tabby Oberdorfer led a Stags rally with a five-point service run in the second game, but the Rams held on and coasted to a 25-14 win in the third.

Girls soccer

Carly Gauche and Janelle Rainer each scored a pair of second-half goals to lead host Colville to a 5-1 victory over Chewelah on the opening day of Great Northern League play. Jochelle Schatz tied the match for Chewelah (1-3) with a one-on-one goal in the 47th minute, but Gauche and Rainer took over for the Indians (3-0). … In other GNL openers, sophomore forward Cory Druffel scored a hat trick as Pullman (4-1) crushed visiting Medical Lake (1-3) 7-0. Fellow sophomore Katie Spangenberg had a goal and two assists for the Greyhounds, who fired 25 shots at the Cardinals. … Tabitha Grow and Kim Fischer scored in the last six minutes of the first half as Riverside (1-2) defeated Lakeside (0-2) 2-0 at Nine Mile Falls. Amanda Sturm had nine saves for the shutout.
