Sophomore forward Nanda McCormick took a crossing pass from Christine Soma and hit a 12-yard strike in the 19th minute to lead Gonzaga to a 1-0 win over Washington in a non-conference women’s soccer match Sunday in Seattle.

The Bulldogs (6-2-1) defeated the Huskies (0-7-2) for the first time in program history, just two days after achieving the same feat against Oregon State.

•New Mexico outshot Idaho (2-6) 15-4 in a 1-0 non-conference win in Albuquerque. Kristine Sweat scored for the Lobos (3-3-3) in the 58th minute.

•Nevada defender Randee Robinson scored two goals to lead the Wolf Pack to a 3-0 victory over Washington State in non-conference action in Reno, Nev. The Cougars (5-3-1) were outshot 15-5 in the match. Goalkeeper Katie Hultin made six saves for WSU.

•Chelsey Stoltz scored on a crossed ball in the 54th minute as Linfield (2-4-1, 1-3 NWC) upset host No. 21 Whitworth 2-1 in Northwest Conference play.

Meghan Hudson gave Whitwoth (3-2-2, 2-1-1) an early lead, heading in a corner kick in the sixth minute.

Men’s Soccer

Craig Mallace scored on a 30-yard free kick in the 82nd minute as Wisconsin-Milwaukee tied Gonzaga 1-1 in the Gonzaga Nike Soccer Classic at Martin Field.

Mark Stock gave the Bulldogs (2-3-2) the lead on a penalty kick in the 78th minute. Oregon State won the day’s opening match 4-3 over Jacksonville to win the tournament.

•Jonathan Carlson’s rebound in the 66th minute gave host No. 12 Whitworth a 1-1 tie with Linfield in Northwest Conference action.

Football

Whitworth snuck into the final spot in the D3football.com Top 25 after a bye week. Northwest Conference rival Linfield remained No. 1.

Golf

Alex Prugh (Ferris) shot 71 to finish tied for second place and lead Washington to a tie with host Minnesota for the Gopher Invitational championship in Wayzata, Minn.

Hockey

Spokane’s Brandon Lassiter scored in the second period, but a Fernie power-play goal with 2:33 left in overtime gave the Ghost Riders a 2-1 victory over the Braves (0-2-2-1) at Fernie, B.C.
