WSU Master Gardeners - This series of weekly classes will discuss selecting, planting, pruning and maintaining trees and shrubs, Sept. 24 through Oct. 22. 10 a.m.-12 p.m., 222 N. Havana St., Spokane. $35 for series, or $10 per class. 477-2048.

Apple Festival - Harvest festival is held over seven weekends, Sept. 17- Oct. 30. Enjoy a large variety of apples, fresh pressed cider and other produce, live music, craft booths, corn and straw mazes and animals. Green Bluff.

Watershed Festival - Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute needs volunteers to assist in educational stations. Join our environmental education staff as they utilize an entire day to teach local fourth graders about our watershed. Over 120 students will circulate between four stations: macroinvertebrate study, riparian wildlife, groundwater and EcoArt. Our watershed restoration crew will be teaching students the importance of restoring an area by using the Robinson Park restoration project as a hands-on example. Spokane Fall Home Idea Show - This show will highlight interior design, landscaping, outdoor entertaining, extensive remodeling and more. Many exhibitors will offer discounts at the show, and there will be seminars for decorating and construction.
