Evangelist to speak

Eldon Stevens, an evangelist originally from Nebraska, will speak at Faith Baptist Church, 673 Arden Hill Road, Colville, Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m.

Handbell concert

Central Lutheran Church, 512 S. Bernard St., is presenting the De Colores Handbell Choir on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Reception for pastor

Don Gilmore, the pastor of Plymouth Congregational Church, is retiring after 37 years at the church.

The congregation will host a reception and potluck for Gilmore and his wife, Natalie, Sunday after the 10 a.m. worship service at the church, 1502 E. Eight Ave.

His last service will be on Easter Sunday.

Lenten service

Salem Lutheran Church, 1415 W. Broadway Ave., is hosting Grace Lutheran, St. Paul Lutheran and Emmanuel Lutheran churches next Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for a soup supper and worship.

The event is part of services being held each Wednesday during Lent.

Christ’s Church of Deer Park, 5804 W. Herman Road, Deer Park, is offering an areawide worship service presented by the church’s youth group today at 7 p.m.

Spring bake sale

Today is the last day the women of St. John Orthodox Church, 4718 W. Horsehaven Ave., Post Falls, will be taking orders for their spring bake sale.

Items for sale include Greek, Russian and Middle Eastern pastries.

Prices range from $4 to $8, and the pastries will be available to pickup April 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Movie sneak preview

The Unity Center, 4123 E. Lincoln Road, is presenting a sneak preview of “The Celestine Prophesy,” the movie based on the book by James Redfield.

The movie will play today at 2 and 6 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Spokane Christian Singles is holding a speed-dating event today at 5 p.m. for singles ages 20 through 49.

The event will be at Cafe Donna, 12005 E. Trent Ave.

The cost is $10, and those attending are encouraged to bring money for the all-you-can-eat buffet.
