Someone should invent cue cards for people to read in all of life’s awkward situations – getting fired, being found in bed with someone other than your spouse, getting divorced.

Especially getting divorced.

Unlike most of the rest of us, hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons is rich enough to have someone write his material. Thus, upon announcing the breakup of his seven-year marriage with his wife, Kimora Lee, Simmons had the following to say on Friday:

“Kimora and I will remain committed parents and caring friends with great love and admiration for each other. We will also continue to work side by side on a daily basis as partners in all of our businesses.”

Something similar holds true for Matt LeBlanc “Joey,” who is splitting from his second wife, Melissa LeBlanc.

“They remain devoted parents and friends,” LeBlanc’s publicist, Joe Libonati, said Thursday.

LeBlanc and his soon-to-be ex seek joint custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Marina. LeBlanc has two children from his first marriage.

We’ve missed typing Buttafuoco

Remember Joey Buttafuoco? Seems like the guy just can’t stay out of the news. Buttafuoco, whose 1992 affair with then-17-year-old Amy Fisher led to Fisher’s shooting his wife, Mary Jo Buttafuoco, has been jailed for possessing illegal ammunition.

In 1994, Buttafuoco, who now lives in California, was sentenced to a year in jail and five years probation for insurance fraud. The ammunition, which was found in a search of his San Fernando home, violated his probation.

Britney’s guard singing in court

Britney Spears is unfair to her help – or so claim three security guards who are suing the pop star, claiming that they had to work long hours and miss meals without overtime pay.

Lonnie Jones, Randy Jones and Silas Dukes are seeking damages exceeding $25,000 for unpaid wages and benefits, their lawyer, Daniel Emilio, said Wednesday.

Armani: as Chinese as espresso

Giorgio Armani says he’s always felt the influence of Chinese style.

“You can see from my retrospective show that many products reflect the Chinese inspiration,” Armani said Thursday.

The Italian designer was on his way to Shanghai, where an exhibition of more than 500 of his designs and sketches were on display at the Shanghai Art Museum.

And the crowd roared at his joke

They’re going to take shots at Jerry Lewis. But he doesn’t care.

A Friars Club roast, led by Richard Belzer, will be held in his honor June 9.

“Since I had nothing better to do, why not?” Lewis said.
