Tom Cruise says that he and Katie Holmes want to tie the knot this summer, after the birth of their baby and the release of his new movie, “Mission: Impossible III.”

Cruise confirmed the plans on Monday to Germany’s leading tabloid, Bild. He and Holmes have been engaged since June.

“First the baby, then the film,” the 43-year-old actor was quoted as saying. “Then, in summer, we want to get married. I won’t let this woman get away.”

Holmes, 27, is in the final stages of her pregnancy. “Mission: Impossible III” will be released May 5.

Cruise, who was in Germany to promote the film on the popular “Wetten Dass (I’ll Bet)” TV show, said that two pilots were at the ready to fly him home should Holmes go into labor.

“If Katie calls, I’m gone,” he said.

Stepping out again

The Material Mom is going back on the road.

Madonna will open the “Confessions Tour” in Los Angeles on May 21, work eastward through North America and jump to Europe starting July 30, she announced Monday.

The tour will suppor her 2005 album, “Confessions on a Dance Floor.”

“I’m going to turn the world into one big dance floor,” the 47-year-old singer said.

You sure about that chair?

Country star George Jones has been released from the hospital after being treated for pneumonia last week.

It wasn’t known when the 74-year-old singer would resume his concert tour.

Jones, whose hits include “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” “The Race Is On” and “I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair,” has been performing some 95 shows a year.

Free Yanni

New Age musician Yanni won’t be charged with domestic battery in an alleged dispute with his girlfriend.

The 51-year-old Greek-born pianist was arrested March 3 at his beachfront home in Manalapan, Fla. His 33-year-old girlfriend said she suffered a bloody lip after he shook her, threw her on a bed and jumped on her.

Authorities said there was no independent evidence to support the charges.

Where’s the Dead head?

A salmon-colored commode that once belonged to the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia has been stolen from a California driveway along with three other toilets and a bidet.

The toilet was awaiting shipment to online Canadian casino Goldenpalace.com, which planned to use it as part of a traveling exhibit.

It’s unclear if the toilet was swiped by a wayward Deadhead or a thief remodeling a bathroom. Goldenpalace.com, which paid $2,550, is offering a $250 reward for its return.
