Hay truck driver cited in ‘mess’

The Spokesman-Review

A truck and trailer carrying hay tipped over Friday morning, causing traffic to back up for 30 to 40 minutes during the morning commute.

“It was a mess,” Washington State Patrol spokesman Trooper Jeff Sevigney said.

The crash occurred about 6:12 a.m. when the driver of the truck took the curve from northbound Highway 195 onto westbound Interstate 90 too fast, Sevigney said. The driver hit a semitruck, but it stayed upright.

No one was injured in the crash.

The hay truck driver was cited for speeding, Sevigney said.

Reward offered for tip on woman

Secret Witness is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of a Spokane woman wanted on suspicion of first-degree rendering criminal assistance for allegedly aiding and abetting someone who was attempting to flee police.

The felony warrant for Crystal Bumpas, 22, has no bond, said Spokane County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan. Bumpas is described as black, 5-foot-6, 280 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts should call (509) 327-5111. Callers don’t have to give their name to collect the cash reward but should leave a code name or number.
