Trentwood SCOPE – Volunteers discussed a fundraiser planned for Aug. 15-16 at the I-90/Sprague rest stop. They will be offering refreshments for donations at the stop serving the westbound lanes. (Source: Jan Eastman)

Spokane Valley Fire – Commissioners heard a quarterly report from Chief Mike Thompson on department goals and objectives. They voted to revise the district’s building-use policies. Residents of the district will not have to pay to use meeting rooms and other facilities, but residents living outside the district boundaries will be charged a fee. The commissioners also passed a sole source provider resolution to allow for the purchase of grant-funded radio equipment. (Source: Commissioner Joe Dawson)

Rockford City Council – Council members discussed a request to build two homes on a hill; there are concerns about water pressure and supply. The town was notified that it will receive a $4,500 grant to put an asphalt trail in the city park. (Source: Town clerk)
