Ice Age Floods Institute – The Cheney Palouse Chapter of the institute will host Lloyd Stoess speaking on the Ice Age floods at the south end of the Cheney Palouse Scabland Tract, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 307 of the Science Building on Eastern Washington University’s Cheney campus; 559-5818.

Geology lecture series – David Hodell of the University of Florida will speak on “Climate and Cultural History of the Maya Lowlands: Were They Related?” 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Spokane Community College Lair Student Center, 1810 N. Greene.

“Weapons of Mass Deception” – Showings of the film by Danny Schechter will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Friday at the Community Building, 35 W. Main. The cost is $5 and includes popcorn; 747-3012.
