Greater Spokane League: Mike Conrad’s third hit of the game scored Connor Brooks in the bottom of the eighth inning to give University a 5-4 victory over visiting Central ValleyFriday. Pitcher Adam Smith went the distance for U-Hi (13-4, 12-3) with six strikeouts. Bryan Adams had three hits for CV (9-10, 8-9). … Mark Purser hit a two-run homer to spark a five-run first inning as Mt. Spokane routed host Shadle Park 11-1 in five innings. Marcos Armendariz had two hits and two RBIs for the Wildcats (11-4, 11-4), while Steve Winkler and Mark Sherwood had two hits apiece for the Highlanders (3-14, 1-14). … Chad Berland had four RBIs to lead Ferris to a 13-3 win over Rogers (7-10, 5-10) in six innings at Whitworth College. Scott Ward was 3 for 3 with a triple and two runs scored for the host Saxons (14-2, 13-2). … Bryan Peterson hit a three-run homer in the top of the fifth inning to seal West Valley’s 6-1 win over host Mead (11-5, 11-4). Peterson had four RBIs for the Eagles (12-3, 12-3), and he was one of four WV players with two hits. … Ryan Richardson threw a five-hitter and hit 3 for 4 with three runs and a triple as North Central (9-7, 9-6) beat visiting Cheney (1-17, 1-16) 11-1 in five innings. … Eric Barge threw a five-hitter with 10 strikeouts as host Lewis and Clark defeated Gonzaga Prep (7-10, 6-9) 6-3 at Hart Field. Jamie McNeil had two hits and two RBIs for the Tigers (7-8, 7-8).

Great Northern League: Ryan Druffel hit 4 for 4 and Justin Cooper hit 3 for 3 to lead Pullman to a 6-3 victory over visiting Colville to open a doubleheader. Cooper also earned the win for the Greyhounds (10-4, 9-4), striking out six in six innings. In the nightcap, Cody Yecha hit 2 for 3 with four RBIs and carried a perfect game into the fifth inning as Colville won 7-2. Justin Holloway also had two hits for the Indians (11-5, 10-5).

Inland Empire League: Tyler Lichty hit a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning to lead Sandpoint to a 6-5 victory over Coeur d’Alene (9-8, 5-7). Lichty finished 2 for 3 with three RBIs for the Bulldogs (9-6, 7-6).

Softball

Greater Spokane League: Mandy Mikelson improved to 6-0 on the season with a no-hitter, striking out three as University routed visiting East Valley (4-13, 3-13) 10-0 in five innings. Alex Marquard had three hits for U-Hi (13-3, 13-2), and Riki Schiermeister added two hits and two stolen bases. … Kenna Schibe hit 3 for 4 and drove in the winning run in the fourth inning as Cheney (4-12, 4-11) held off host West Valley 5-4. Camille Mackie had two hits to lead West Valley (2-14, 2-13), which had two runners thrown out at home. … Sam Skillingstad threw a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts as Shadle Park routed visiting Ferris (2-14, 2-14) 15-0 in five innings. China Frost, Danielle Lynn and Robin Conrad – the first three batters in the Shadle (15-0, 14-0) lineup – combined to hit 10 for 10 with seven RBIs and seven runs scored. … Alicia Kahler had two hits and two RBIs to lead North Central to a 4-3 victory over visiting Gonzaga Prep (6-10, 6-10). RaeAnne Cumbie added two hits and two runs scored for the Indians (11-4, 11-4), while Kelcie Vallies threw a two-hitter for her 11th win of the season. … Katie Bronson and Alex Cey each had two hits to lead Mead to a 12-2 victory over visiting Lewis and Clark (2-13, 2-13). Cey had two RBIs and Bronson added two runs for the Panthers (8-7, 8-7). … Angel Urann hit a pair of home runs and had three RBIs as Mt. Spokane defeated host Rogers (11-5, 10-5) 9-0. Urann also scored three runs for the Wildcats (10-5, 10-5).

Great Northern League: Tori Snyder had three RBIs as Pullman (8-5, 4-2) rallied to defeat host Medical Lake 7-5 to open a doubleheader. Rachel Maddox had three hits in each game for Medical Lake (11-5, 4-4), which won the nightcap 16-2 in five innings. Maddox added three RBIs for the Cardinals, and Caitlin Smith hit 4 for 5 with four RBIs. … Shea Urhausen hit 3 for 4 and scored four runs as Colville defeated host Chewelah (9-5, 3-4) 9-7 to open a doubleheader. Jordan Emmil added two RBIs for the Indians. Urhausen capped a Colville rally in the seventh inning of the nightcap with an RBI single to give the Indians (10-0, 8-0) a 12-10 victory. Urhausen and Cassie Stuart each had three RBIs for Colville.

Inland Empire League: Lauren Nagrone hit an RBI triple in the first inning to give Post Falls a 1-0 victory over host Moscow (7-10, 5-9) to open a doubleheader. Blake Meredith threw a two-hitter for the Trojans, striking out six. Nagrone helped give PF the sweep with another RBI triple in the eighth inning of the nightcap for a 4-3 victory. Nikki Bennett hit 3 for 4 for the Trojans (15-3, 11-2), including an RBI single to score Nagrone in the eighth.

Intermountain League: Sam Siron hit 3 for 4 with three RBIs as St. Maries routed visiting Bonners Ferry 13-2 in five innings to open a doubleheader. Rayna Eisses added two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Lumberjacks. Siron and Kelsi Lee each hit 4 for 5 in the nightcap, a 27-9 win in five innings. Lee and Eisses added five RBIs apiece for St. Maries (4-3), which held BF (0-6) to one hit.

Track and field

Timberlake won eight events to win the boys’ 14-team Timberlake Invitational in Spirit Lake. Sprinter Nick Puckett (200 meters and 400) and distance runner Frank Lagrimanta (1,600 and 3,200) each won two events for the Tigers, who finished with 169 points. Newport was second with 134 1/2, followed by Freeman with 70. … On the girls’ side, Kaitie Poston earned Bonners Ferry’s only two event wins to lead the Badgers to the team title. Poston threw the shot put 41 feet, 6 3/4 inches and the discus 148-9 for BF, which had 121 points. Darcy Collins won three events – the 100 and 300 hurdles, and the high jump – for Kootenai, which finished fourth. Timberlake (89 points) and Deer Park (84) rounded out the top three.
