RiverHawks take one-game lead
Darin Holcomb’s two-run double in the fifth highlighted a 2-for-4, three-RBI performance as Spokane took over sole possession of first place in the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League, defeating Moses Lake 3-1 Monday at Avista Stadium.
The Riverhawks’ (24-13) Jeremy Hefner earned his fifth win of the season after pitching eight innings, giving up one run on four hits, and striking out eight with one walk.
Josh Williamson pitched the ninth inning for his sixth save.
Spokane takes a one-game lead over Bend, which lost to Kitsap 6-2.
Moses Lake and the Riverhawks meet tonight for a doubleheader at 5:30 at Avista.
