Sitar concert Saturday at Unity

A father-son duo of visiting musicians will present a sitar concert of Indian classical music on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Unity Church, 2900 S. Bernard St.

Pandit Shivanth Mishra and his son, Deobrat Mishra, of Varansi (Benares), India, are well-known sitar teachers and performers. They will be accompanied by Marco Zonka on tabla and Felicity Gerwing on tamboura.

Tickets are $15 at the door (children under 10 admitted free with a paying adult). Proceeds will help fund the Mishras’ new school of music in Benares.
