Motorcyclist dies in collision

One person was killed Wednesday in a motorcycle-van collision in Boundary County.

Details were not available, but the Idaho State Police said the crash occurred on U.S. Highway 2 about 4:50 p.m. near Moyie Springs.

Preliminary reports indicated the motorcycle ran into the van when the van made a turn.

The driver of the motorcycle, Robert Jacoby, died at the scene, according to the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office. His passenger, Mary Diane Fisher, was hospitalized at Boundary Community Hospital. Sheriff’s deputies said the driver of the van, Georgia Ziegweid, and her two children were treated and released at the hospital in Bonners Ferry.
