Meet your Neighbor

Carl Gidlundcorrespondent The Spokesman-Review

Name: Stan Maurer

Age: 51

Hometown: My hometown is Sandpoint, but I moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1976.

Occupation: I’m a compounding pharmacy technician at Medicine Man Pharmacy in Hayden Lake.

Family: My wife, Maxine, has six children, and I have three. The last one moved out a year ago, so now we’re empty nesters.

Hobbies: Softball, gardening, swimming and biking.

What do you like about North Idaho? I like the trees and the lakes. This really seems to be God’s country.

What do you like or dislike about the current season? I enjoy all four seasons as long as it’s below 100 degrees or above zero, and that’s what it usually is. The climate is a big reason I like living in North Idaho.

Favorite music: Alan Jackson and easy listening

Favorite TV show: I have two favorites, “NCIS” and “The Unit”.

Favorite movie: “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

Favorite spot in North Idaho? Why? It has to be the city park. We have grandkids and that’s a great place for swimming, sitting in the shade, and the kids can play in the playground.
