Coug-to-be wins MeadowWood
Central Valley graduate Nick Grigsby, who will play collegiately at Washington State, showed a glimpse of things to come.
Grigsby claimed the MeadowWood Amateur title for the second time in three years Sunday, making birdie on the first playoff hole to defeat Brad Burtness. The two were tied at 6-under-par 138 through two rounds. Stu Fried finished third at 139.
The tournament is part of the Toyota Series of Golf and is a qualifier for the season-ending Sterling Savings Bank Shoot-Out. Because of his school commitment, Grigsby passed his spot in the Shoot-Out to Burtness. Brandon Bolt, Tanner Robb and Baldomero Tejada also qualified for the Shoot-Out.
