Keep quiet, Shock

The Spokesman-Review

Back in the mid-‘90s the city of Spokane built a new arena, not solely for hockey, NCAA basketball, PRCA rodeos, monster trucks, and certainly not solely for Shock football (if you can call it that).

The arena is a multipurpose facility and due to the fact that one organization rents this facility most frequently, it makes sense that they would be the “primary tenant.”

(Spokane Shock), your expansion team’s unlikely success and trip to the league championship game in its inaugural season gives you no right to complain about the arena’s prior commitments. Perhaps your own league office could have been more accommodating and held the game on a different date so your own fans could attend the championship game.

Specifically, hockey has a much longer and storied tradition in Spokane. The current Chiefs hockey organization has been in Spokane for 20 years. They, too, have a solid fan base and are a proven business success. Please keep your comments to yourself for the next 20 years and if your mutated brand of football is still around, then maybe you can talk. You will probably make a few more friends this way as well.
