Student taken to hospital

The Spokesman-Review

An Evergreen Middle School student was taken by ambulance to a local hospital Friday morning after misusing a prescription drug.

The only information Central Valley School District officials could release was that the student was a female.

“It happened early in the school day. There was real quick intervention here at the school between the students and the staff,” said Melanie Rose, spokeswoman for the district. “It looks like physically she’ll be fine.”

Rose said that when there’s a medical issue of any kind school officials call 911, call the parents and do what they can to help the student.

“The school has been working with some of the students who were directly involved in this morning’s episode; working with any of those students who need someone to talk to, and they’re going to keep an eye out for any other students throughout the day that may need to talk about it too,” said Rose.
