Hearing today on Hatch condo plan

A public hearing before the city hearing examiner is scheduled for 9 a.m. today at City Hall on an application to build a 100-unit condominium project at 5602 S. Hatch Road.

Developer Yong Lewis of Spokane is seeking a planned unit development designation for the 25-acre site overlooking the Latah Creek Valley.

In other business, the City Council on Monday set a hearing before the council for Jan. 2 on a request to vacate the alley between Grand Boulevard and Hatch Street between 37th and 38th avenues as requested by developer Al Payne. The hearing is expected to be held during the latter portion of the council’s regular 6 p.m. legislative session.

Meetings

•The Manito/Cannon Hill Neighborhood Council will meet at 7 p.m. today at Wilson Elementary School, 911 W. 25th Ave. On the agenda is an update on the Comstock Pool, a report from the director of Development and Historic Incentives for the city of Spokane, and a report on the multifamily tax-exemption program.

•The Community Assembly meeting for all neighborhoods will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday in the City Council briefing room, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd. An awards potluck will follow.

•The Southgate Neighborhood Council will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Educational Service District 101, 4202 S. Regal St.

•The Community Assembly Land Use Committee meeting will be from 5 to 6 p.m. next Thursday in City Hall’s third-floor conference room, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.
