Whitworth presents annual concert

Whitworth College will present its annual Christmas concert, “From Out of Darkness, We Have Light,” on Friday and Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Spokane.

The Whitworth Choir and Whitworth Women’s Choir, with organ, brass, wind and percussion accompaniment, will perform a program including Daniel Pinkham’s “Author of Light,” a Missa Brevis by Hafso, Z. Randall Stroope’s “Magnificat” and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on Christmas Carols,” among other seasonal works.

Concerts begin at 8 p.m. Friday and 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday at the church, 318 S. Cedar St. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors, by calling (509) 467-9397 or through TicketsWest outlets (509-325-SEAT, 800-325-SEAT, www.ticketswest.com).

‘Carols in Brass’

The Spokane British Brass Band will perform a “Carols in Brass” holiday concert on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Spokane Falls Community College Music Building auditorium.
