Wildlife Commission meets

The Spokesman-Review

The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission will meet Friday and Saturday in Tumwater to consider a variety of proposals, including one that would require the state’s 80 game-bird farmers to test their flocks for avian influenza.

The commission also is scheduled to consider spring bear hunting seasons, landowner hunting permits for private ranches in Grant and Asotin counties and modify the boundaries of several deer- and elk-hunting areas.

The commission will be briefed on the Fish and Wildlife Department’s youth sport fishing program, tiger musky fishery, Private Lands Access Program and renegotiation of the Pacific Salmon Treaty.
