Blazing Suns win ninth straight
Shawn Marion had 29 points and Steve Nash added 16 points and 14 assists to help the Phoenix Suns extend their winning streak to nine games Friday night with a 116-111 victory over the Boston Celtics.
Raja Bell and Boris Diaw each added 14 points for Phoenix. The Suns have won 11 of 12 after starting the season 1-5.
Paul Pierce scored 36 for Boston.
Rockets 92, Bobcats 62: At Charlotte, N.C., Tracy McGrady scored 23 points, Yao Ming added 21 and Charlotte shot a franchise-low 28 percent as Houston beat the Bobcats.
Rookie Adam Morrison was the poster boy for Charlotte’s offensive problems, scoring two points on 1-of-11 shooting.
Pacers 108, Trail Blazers 95: At Indianapolis, Jamaal Tinsley had 20 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, and Indiana beat Portland.
Portland’s Zach Randolph had 29 points.
