Blazing Suns win ninth straight

Shawn Marion had 29 points and Steve Nash added 16 points and 14 assists to help the Phoenix Suns extend their winning streak to nine games Friday night with a 116-111 victory over the Boston Celtics.

Raja Bell and Boris Diaw each added 14 points for Phoenix. The Suns have won 11 of 12 after starting the season 1-5.

Paul Pierce scored 36 for Boston.

Rockets 92, Bobcats 62: At Charlotte, N.C., Tracy McGrady scored 23 points, Yao Ming added 21 and Charlotte shot a franchise-low 28 percent as Houston beat the Bobcats.

Rookie Adam Morrison was the poster boy for Charlotte’s offensive problems, scoring two points on 1-of-11 shooting.

Pacers 108, Trail Blazers 95: At Indianapolis, Jamaal Tinsley had 20 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, and Indiana beat Portland.

Portland’s Zach Randolph had 29 points.

Pistons 87, Magic 83: At Orlando, Fla., Chauncey Billups scored a season-high 31 points on 11-of-16 shooting, leading Detroit to a victory over Orlando.

Timberwolves 110, Jazz 103: At Minneapolis, Kevin Garnett had a season-high 31 points and 14 rebounds to lead Minnesota over Utah.

Spurs 111, Clippers 82: At San Antonio, Tony Parker had a career-high 15 assists and Manu Ginobili scored 22 points as San Antonio beat Los Angeles.

Bucks 100, Grizzlies 94: At Milwaukee, Ruben Patterson scored a season-high 30 points and Michael Redd added 25 to lead Milwaukee to a victory over Memphis.

Wizards 113, 76ers 98: At Philadelphia, Gilbert Arenas finished with 32 points, and Caron Butler had 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead Washington over Philadelphia.

Bulls 93, Raptors 90: At Chicago, Luol Deng scored 25 points and Chicago edged Toronto.

Lakers 106, Hawks 95: At Los Angeles, Luke Walton scored a career-high 25 points and Los Angeles held on to beat Atlanta.

Nuggets 123, Heat 107: At Denver, J.R. Smith scored a career-high 37 points and Carmelo Anthony added 32 in Denver’s victory over Miami.
