Test your milk IQ: How many pounds of milk does it take to make 1 pound of cheese? 1, 5, 10 or 20? It takes 10 pounds of milk! OK, one more: Did you know that milk is the best thing to drink when you’ve taken a bite of food that is too spicy-hot? The casein in the milk helps to quickly cool down your mouth. So, give it a try the next time those jalapenos are too hot! – Heloise

Here are two hints from Audrey Hartman of North Canton, Ohio:

“When leaving on a trip, pour leftover milk into ice-cube trays and freeze. When you return, you’ll have fresh milk for coffee, etc.

“After shredding cheese, sprinkle with a little flour and toss. The shredded cheese will not stick together and can be stored in a plastic bag in the refrigerator for later use.
