Pancake breakfast – Food, a bake sale and a visit from Santa are on the menu, 8-11 a.m. at the Five Mile Schoolhouse at Strong and Five Mile Roads; cost is $3 and free for children under 4.

Breakfast with Signing Santa – The Spokane County Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will host a breakfast, social time and visit with Santa, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Manito United Methodist Church, 3220 S. Grand Blvd.; cost: $4 adults, $3 seniors and $2 kids .

Engineers Forum of Spokane – Peter Moye, president of the Spokane Symphony, will speak on the new Fox Theater, noon Monday at the Holiday Inn Airport, 1616 Windsor Drive. Lunch is $13. (509) 244-2467.

Compass Club luncheon – The women’s club for welcoming newcomers to the area with gather at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, 2316 W. First, at 11 a.m. Jan. 2. The cost is to be determined. Those attending may tour the museum. Call 226-5075 for reservations.
