Fire District 2 (Fairfield) – Commissioners discussed getting an ambulance with mechanical problems fixed. They also set up a reserve fund to start saving money for vehicle replacements. (Source: Chief Adam Brannon)

Edgecliff SCOPE – Volunteers started planning a pancake feed to be held in the spring. They are holding a food drive. Donations may be dropped off at the SCOPE office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Friday. A special events committee was also created. (Source: Rick Scott)

Fairfield City Council – A public hearing was held on the 2007 budget. Council members voted to approve the budget. An upcoming teen dance was also discussed. (Source: Town Clerk Shelly Wood)

Fire District 13 (Newman Lake) – Commissioners have changed the monthly meeting to the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at Station 1. The district is in the process of reviewing the department’s insurance coverage of building and vehicles. The department’s auxiliary is working to set up a system to provide food to firefighters while on emergency calls if needed. (Source: Secretary Janni Hills)

Rockford City Council – Council members voted to approve the amended 2006 budget and the 2007 budget. They also finalized the schedule for the comprehensive plan update, which should be complete in March. (Source: Town clerk)
