Yoga Classes for Breast Cancer Survivors – Washington State University Spokane in Health Sciences and the WSU Cancer Prevention and Research Center are offering eight weeks of Iyengar yoga classes to eligible breast cancer survivors. Must be a resident of Eastern Washington and must be able to attend 17 classes from Jan. 8-March 1 on Monday and Thursday nights. An introductory meeting will be held Jan. 4 at 6 p.m. in Room 11A of the WSU Spokane Health Sciences Building, 310 N. Coping with the Challenging Behaviors of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias – The Alzheimer’s Association Inland Northwest Chapter is presenting this workshop that will discuss tips and strategies on coping with behavior that leads to stress, frustration and tension between people with dementia and their caregivers. Cancer Fitness Recovery Program – The Medically Directed Wellness Center at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute is looking for four underinsured or uninsured women to participate in its Cancer Fitness Recovery Program. The program helps cancer survivors deal with the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has set aside money for women who cannot afford to join.
