1977 Corvette T-21

Name: Bill Denhart, 83 “and still going strong,” Spokane.

Purchased: New in 1977.

Why I love it: Traveling through Chicago on business in 1977, I called a dealer friend just to say hello. Darned if he didn’t have a new orange-colored auto that he knew I just had to have. I bought it for $8,200 and headed west to Seattle. Boy did it run sweet. Got caught doing 125 mph the first day out. It was the color that sold me, bright orange. It now has 97,000 miles and all parts are original. I just got a new paint job for it last month.

My next car will be: Something American, probably with hydrogen power.
