Idaho woes continue
HONOLULU – Julian Sensley scored 22 points on 10-of-14 shooting to lead Hawaii to an 81-61 Western Athletic Conference men’s basketball victory over Idaho on Thursday night.
Matt Lojeski added 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 5 of 6 on 3-pointers, for Hawaii .
The Rainbow Warriors (11-8, 5-4 WAC) shot a season-high 63.3 percent from the field, including 62.5 percent (10 of 16) on 3-pointers.
Tanoris Shepard led Idaho (3-16, 0-8 WAC) with 18 points before fouling out with 1:16 remaining. Keoni Watson added 13 for the Vandals, who lost their 10th consecutive game.
Idaho, 0-9 on the road this season, kept it close the first 14 minutes, leading by as many as four points, 11-7, at the 12:58 mark.
The Rainbow Warriors outscored the Vandals 19-6 to close out the half, leading 42-29 at halftime.
Hawaii started the second half with a 13-2 run, capped by eight consecutive points from Sensley, to open a 24-point lead, 55-31. The Rainbow Warriors led by as many as 25 points in the game.
