Spokane Indians gain pitching coach
The Northwest League baseball champion Spokane Indians and Texas Rangers announced Wednesday the hiring of Danny Clark as Indians pitching coach for the 2006 season.
The Rangers previously named Aris Tirado as pitching coach, but he was recently reassigned to the Rangers’ Arizona Rookie League club.
Most recently, Clark has been the head coach at Milligan (Tenn.) College, compiling a 188-143 record during his six seasons at the helm. The Buffaloes won the 2001 Appalachian Athletic Conference championship. In 2003, Clark led the Buffaloes through the loser’s bracket of the AAC Tournament, winning five games in two days, to capture the AAC Tournament championship.
Clark will join an Indians staff that includes manager Mike Micucci and hitting coach Jim Nettles.
