Chiefs lose to Everett, fall to fifth in division
EVERETT – Peter Mueller’s hat trick led the Everett Silvertips to a 6-3 win over the Spokane Chiefs in Western Hockey League play on Friday night.
Spokane’s Michael Grabner had his 26th goal of the season to tie the game at 1 early in the second period, but Mueller responded with two goals in less than 2 minutes (at 6:24 and 8:20) to give his team a 3-1 lead.
The Chiefs responded by the end of the second period with goals from Judd Blackwater (17:44) and Drayson Bowman (18:09) to tie the game at 3 entering the final period.
That’s the way it would stay until Mueller completed his hat trick at 13:03 for the winner.
Spokane (21-29-4-3, 49 points) fell to fifth place with the loss, as Portland (50) earned a point by going to overtime with Tri-City.
