Hewitt to face Murray in SAP Open finals
Lleyton Hewitt used a dazzling array of angles on his serves and groundstrokes to defeat Vince Spadea 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday and move on to the finals of the SAP Open in San Jose, Calif.
Hewitt will face Andrew Murray in the finals. Murray upset top-seeded Andy Roddick 7-5, 7-5 in the other semifinal.
•Top-ranked Kim Clijsters defeated Russia’s Elena Dementieva 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 to reach the final of the Diamond Games in Antwerp, Belgium.
Clijsters will face rival and No. 2-ranked Amelie Mauresmo today for the title. Mauresmo beat Nadia Petrova 6-4, 7-5.
•Two-time champion Carlos Moya outlasted Spanish compatriot Juan Carlos Ferrero 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4 to reach the final of the Copa Telmex in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he will face Filippo Volandri, who knocked off Agustin Calleri 6-3, 6-4.

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jose Theodore will miss six to eight weeks after fracturing his right heel while walking down the frozen steps of his Montreal home, the team said.
•Elena Soboleva set an indoor world record in the 1,500 meters at the Russian indoor track championships in Moscow, shaving 1.70 seconds off the old mark with a time of 58.28 seconds.
