Super Bowl calls wrong

The Spokesman-Review

I would like to respond to an article that was in the newspaper on February 8, 2006, entitled, “NFL defends officials’ calls.” This article had to do with the outrageous officiating during Super Bowl XL. The Seattle Seahawks admitted that the referees were right in their ruling, but I’m positive that they were just being modest. Even though some of the referees’ calls seemed logical, many of them should’ve been called on the Pittsburgh Steelers before the Seahawks made the foul that was called. One example would be the intentional tripping Matt Hasselbeck made in the third quarter. On the replay camera, before the camera even showed Hasselbeck, there was a horse-collar mere feet from the camera. This isn’t just my opinion, though. On Feb. 6, on the news, they were talking about riots in Pittsburgh, because the Steelers fans were obviously not happy about how the refs cheated the Seahawks. What I am surprised about is that there weren’t any riots or mobs in Seattle, having lost the way they did. All in all, the best part of the game for me was The Rolling Stones playing at halftime.
