Former Luna employees to open eatery on South Hill
Two former Luna employees plan to open Vin Rouge, a Lincoln Heights restaurant that will offer dishes and salads made from fresh and organic foods.
Former Luna sous chef Tim Hartman and past longtime manager Jeff Jenkins are working with Carrie Davis to start the eatery in the former Skipper’s restaurant building at 29th Avenue and Fiske Street.
Recipes will combine Northwest foods with influences from Spain, Asia, Italy, Greece and other countries.
“It’s just got a little bit of everything,” said Davis, who expects to open in about a month after renovations of the leased space are complete.
Vin Rouge will have seating for 88 people, a separate dining room for private parties of as many as 25 people and a martini bar.
“We’ll have a huge selection of martinis, and we’ll have a very large wine list,” Davis said.
Vin Rouge will initially offer lunch and dinner menus. The restaurant owners later plan to serve breakfast.
