CCS falls, still earns regional title
Robert Comer had a game-high 24 points as Walla Walla (14-12, 8-6) hit 12 3-pointers – six by Comer – in an 89-83 victory over the Community Colleges of Spokane (21-6, 10-3) in Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges basketball action at Walla Walla.
Despite the loss, CCS still clinched its second consecutive Eastern Region title when second-place Yakima Valley fell to Treasure Valley.
Humberto Perez had 20 points for CCS, and Jeremy Mangum finished with 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
•Mac Hopson hit all 10 of his free throws and scored 26 points as North Idaho beat Eastern Utah 78-71 in men’s basketball at Coeur d’Alene Saturday night.
The Cardinals (23-7, 13-5 Scenic West Athletic Conference) also got 15 points and nine rebounds from Bayo Arigbon.
Michael McCrary led all scorers with 31 for CEU (17-10, 8-8).
