Haas, Pingel lead Trojans past Bonners Ferry

Brandon Haas and Spencer Pingel each finished with 13 points to lead four Trojans in double figures as Post Falls held on for a 66-61 win over Bonners Ferry in non-league action Saturday at Bonners Ferry.

Steve Hudec added 12 points and Joe Bodman chipped in with 10 for Post Falls (7-3).

Spencer Behrens had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead the Badgers (6-5), and Matt Rice added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Jacob Kagarise had 14 points, hitting four 3-pointers, as Kellogg (8-2, 1-0) shut out St. Maries (2-8, 0-2) in the first quarter en route to a 49-19 Intermountain League win. Tucker Baker led St. Maries with 10 points. … Cody Smith finished with 13 points, 12 assists and five steals as Priest River (5-4, 1-0) led 29-13 at halftime and came out with a 60-31 win over Timberlake (2-8, 0-1) in a spirit game at Priest River. Dustin Lehman and Zach Peterson each had 11 points for Priest River.

Mike Martin scored 16 of his 23 points in the first half and finished with seven rebounds – six offensive – five assists and two steals as Clark Fork (4-6, 3-2) beat Coeur d’Alene Charter (6-5, 2-1) 57-39 in North Star League action at Clark Fork. Tyler Broggi finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Wampus Cats, while David Baker led the way for the Panthers with 18 points. … Merie Bighead hit a late 3-pointer that brought Lakeside to within one point, but Mullan, behind Jesse James’ game-high 18 points, was able to run the clock out and secure a 47-46 victory at Plummer. Matt Murray added 12 points for the Tigers (6-3, 1-1). Wyatt Peters led Lakeside (0-9, 0-2) with nine points.

Washington

Cameron Stroyan had 17 points as Chewelah (2-7, 1-1), down 19-7 after the first quarter, rallied to beat Lakeside (5-5, 1-1) 52-49 in Great Northern League action at Nine Mile Falls. The Cougars were 23 of 34 from the free-throw line. Garrett Perkins and Jeff Harrington led Lakeside with 10 points apiece. … George Turner finished with 19 points as Pullman (8-1, 2-0) led 35-12 at halftime and cruised to a 58-37 win over Medical Lake (2-5, 0-2) at Pullman. J.T. Levenseller added 11 points and Ben Hein 10 for the Greyhounds. Kevin Broadnax led Medical Lake with 11 points. … Kevin McNeil finished with 17 points as Deer Park (6-3, 1-0) earned a 62-45 victory over Colville (1-8, 0-2) at Deer Park. Nathan Shea added 16 points for the Stags, who were 12 of 15 from the free-throw line. Travis Fox went 5 of 7 from 3-point range and finished with a game-high 22 points for Colville.

Jeff Vanderholm hit the first basket in overtime and finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds and Springdale, which didn’t make a field goal the first 7 minutes of the game, came from behind for a 61-56 overtime win over Columbia at Springdale. Down 14-4 after the first quarter, the Chargers (2-7, 1-5) rallied, scoring 26 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Joel Kohlstedt had a game-high 24 points for Springdale. Tyrel Sampson led Columbia (0-8, 0-6) with 17 points. … Austin Mannick was 11 of 19 from the floor and finished with a career-high 24 points as Curlew (9-1, 6-1) held off feisty St. George’s (5-5, 2-3) 62-54 at Curlew. Mannick also had nine assists, while Tyler Carlson finished with 13 points, and Dillon Strandberg added eight assists for the Cougars. Henry Butler led St. George’s with 16 points and seven rebounds. … Travis Zimmerman had 15 points to lead five Rangers in double figures as Selkirk (9-3, 6-0) cruised past Inchelium (3-8, 3-4) 79-60 at Ione. Clint March added 13 points, Matt Reed and Derek MacArthur 12 apiece and Mikki Cromwell 10 for Selkirk. Lance Ragan led the way for Inchelium with a game-high 17 points, and Cody Peone added 13. … Derek Gianukakis led five Tigers in double-digits with 25 points, also adding 13 rebounds, as Republic (9-2, 7-0) cruised to a 81-45 home win over St. Michael’s (3-9, 1-5). Jared Ayers-Stamper had 17 points and 12 rebounds as LaCrosse-Washtucna (5-5, 1-3) used a 16-9 second-quarter to hand Rosalia (5-6, 3-1) its first Whitman County League defeat of the season, a 46-37 setback at Washtucna. Nathan Bailey led Rosalia with 12 points. … Raymond Fitzgerald led four Eagles in double figures with 19 points as St. John-Endicott (9-2, 4-0) cruised to a 82-55 win over visiting Asotin (6-4, 2-3). Brent Leifer added 17 points, Bryce Johnson had 12 points and Jesse Butcher had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles. Ryan Witters led Asotin with a game-high 20 points.

Drake Costlow scored 17 points, and Odessa got some clutch play from James Glenn and David Johnson in a 57-52 Bi-County League win over host Wilbur-Creston. Glenn finished with 11 points, all in the second half, and Johnson added nine, all in the fourth quarter for the Tigers. Michael Johnson led Wilbur-Creston with 18 points. … Nick Ashley had 21 points as Lind-Ritzville (5-5, 4-4) cruised to a 65-32 win over Davenport (2-8, 1-7) at Davenport. Cameron Stevenson added 18 points for the Broncos, while Kyle Nelson led Davenport with 10 points. … Karl Richardson had 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists as Northwest Christian (9-1, 7-1) routed Sprague-Harrington (0-10, 0-8) 72-31 at Northwest Christian. Jason Azzarito had a huge game, finishing with 30 points on 10-of-13 shooting and dishing eight assists, as Kettle Falls (11-2) beat Liberty Bell 78-61 at Kettle Falls. Azzarito was 6 of 7 from 3-point range and also 4 of 4 from the free-throw line. Brandon Holibaugh was 10 of 14 from the field and added 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Bulldogs shot 53 percent from 2-point range and 56 percent from behind the 3-point arc.
